Day Treatment Program Description

ASCEND day treatment programs will utilize a rehabilitation team consisting of PT, OT, SLP, Nurses, MSW, and Physicians (when appropriate). This would be an offshoot of the weekly therapy program. As participants and their families continue to see the benefits and additional respite is needed so that the person with the neurological disease can remain functional independent at home longer throughout the disease progression.

A day treatment program will consist of a 6 hour program where the caregiver brings their loved one to the location and returns at the end of the six hours. The day program will consist of exercise programs speech and language services, community service project, modified meal preparation classes integrating how to use adaptive equipment, psychosocially through groups counseling, and cognitively at times medical updates on the specific disease process.
